Sindh cabinet okays removal of police chief AD Khawaja

Summary Sindh CM said that we want to make police roles as per constitution and law.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Sindh cabinet on Saturday has endorsed replacement of A.D Khawaja as Inspector General (IG) with a Grade-22 officer.

During the session chaired by Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah, secretary services briefed that in March 2016, A.D Khawaja was appointed as Sindh IG on own pay scale (OPS) but this system was dismissed by Supreme Court (SC) afterwards.

The secretary further suggested that Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti, who is a Grade-22 officer, should be promoted to IG Sindh post, replacing A.D Khawaja.



Meanwhile, A.D Khawaja said that the government gave three names to the federation and his selection was done with the consent of Sindh government. He said that 17 IGs have been appointed in last 10 years among which 14 were Grade-21 officers.
