Summary 'Pakistani minorities should have equal rights'

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan attended the Diwali ceremony and congratulated the Hindu community on the eve of Diwali in his second day of his visit to Karachi.

Addressing the Hindu community, Imran Khan condemned the conversions of Hindu girls to Islam in recent incidents, adding that the minorities are valueable assets of Pakistan that are not inferior to the majority in any way.

The Chairman of PTI stressed that forceful conversions are against the spirit of Islam itself. Recalling the words of Quaid-e-Azam about the equality of Pakistani citizens, he said that the citizens of Pakistan are equal regardless of religion or creed.

Imran Khan assured the Hindu minority that he will eradicate injustice and inequality from the country once he comes in power and declared to ally with the people in war against oppression.

Later in his address to Workers Convention in Sultanabad, the Chairman PTI claimed that his party will win the next General Elections and once in power, the main objective of PTI will be education since there are 25 million children in Pakistan that are illiterate which is dangerous for the future of the country.

He also pointed out that the prosperity of a country lies in investing first and foremost, in the people. Referring to the current ruling party’s investment in infrastructural projects, he said building infrastructure is illusory prosperity.
