Summary A three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has asked Deputy Attorney General Mazhar Iqbal to submit a report with the consultation of defence authorities on current exploration and mining activities in Chaghi with regard to its strategic location.

The court hearing the Reko Diq case, asked the DAG to take notice of their concerns. The court also ordered to take up the issue with relevant authorities and apprise them of their viewpoint. The counsel of TCC Khalid Anwar informed the court that the army was fully aware of the exploration and mining activities in Chaghi area and it had never objected. The counsel of BHP Abdul Hafeez Pirzada said that the CM of Balochistan had approved the agreement.The CJP remarked that no agreement can be approved against the laws of the country. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till tomorrow (Wednesday).
