Summary Contract workers at the Port Qasim staged a sit-in at the port for the confirmation of their jobs and other employment benefits.
Export items worth several millions could not be loaded on ships due to the strike of the port workers. Several employs of the Port Qasim had gathered on the National Highway yesterday morning.They protested against the sacking of port workers by a private company. The workers are protesting since last night and demanded the establishment of the Dock Labour Board at the port.Meanwhile, their contractor company said that the court had given a stay order in favor of the company.
