ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq has submitted a new bill in the Senate Secretariat on Tuesday which states that how a person disqualified by the court can head a political party. Therefore, this law has to be changed.
JI chief said that he has submitted a bill in Senate against the law passed by the parliament recently that allows a disqualified person to become a party head.
The Upper House of the Parliament on September 22 had passed the controversial Electoral Reforms Bill, 2017, paving the way for the disqualified former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to get re-elected as party chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
