ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – During the hearing, chief justice declared that there is no substantial evidence that Jahangir Tareen bought the land on lease and demanded the land lease record from Tareen, to which, lawyer Sikandar Bashir stated that the land was bought on lease on record and the lease payments were paid via cross checks.

Justice Atta Bandhyal reasoned that selling 200 acres of land which was extremely profitable, does not make sense.

Chief justice remarked that the identity of lands owner can be known through finance department record, the court requires the ownership and land cultivation record from the finance department.

Resoponding to the argument, Jahangir Tareens lawyer said that there is no body of system that reviews the agricultural income in Punjab Agricultural Tax law and so his client cannot be declared guilty in the absence of such a sytem.
