Summary MQM chief Farooq Sattar said that the senator who voted for PML-N bill will face consequences
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Mutahida Qaumi Movemenet (MQM) on Saturday asked Mian Ateeq Ahmad Shaikh for clarification about his support for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Senate vote, reported Dunya News.
According to MQM sources, Mian Ateeq’s vote was a complete misunderstanding; it doesn’t necessarily show MQM’s policy. Earlier, on Friday PML-N was able to pass an electoral reform bill in Senate which allowed former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to be the leader of PML-N.
MQM chief Dr. Farooq Sattar, however, said that MQM will take appropriate action against Mian Ateeq. “If an MNA is disqualified, he can’t participate in general politics, how can he be a political party’s leader,” he questioned. However, at the time of the vote, three out of four senators of MQM were absent which raises different questions.
