Summary The Supreme Court stopped the 7 PCO judges from passing orders. The lawyer representing the PCO judges, Abdul Basit asked if there was any judge in the Supreme Court who did not take the PCO oath. If the Generals are not called to court, then the court will be forever tainted.
The hearing of the appeal by the PCO was done by the 7 member bench in the presence of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. Peshawar high court’s discharged Judge Justice Jehanzeb Rahim sent a notice to summon the 4 PCO judges.At the hearing of the case, Dr. Abdul Basit said that they had then giving evidence for the past 3 months but the larger bench did not accept any of it. He said that a case could be registered against the judge according to article 209 of the constitution. Contempt of court against the judges will exposed a lot of departments.Chief justice said that oath has been taken a lot of time under the PCO but only we gave the stay orders. The country shall only be run through the constitution. The next hearing of the case will be on Monday.
