Summary Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has that the Punjab government was pressurized on the issue of Raymond Davis.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Shahbaz revealed that Interior Minister Rehman Malik had phoned him on January 29 and told him that the federal government intended to award diplomatic immunity to Davis. He said that it was three weeks since and the federal government is still indecisive on the matter. However, the Punjab government made its stance clear that the court would decide the matter, he added. The chief minister said that travelling with weapons and shooting people cannot be diplomacy.
