No pressure exerted on Foreign Ministry for Raymonds release: Gilani

Summary Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said that no pressure was exerted on Foreign Ministry for Raymond Davis immunity, and no pressure would be accepted in the coming days.

Addressing the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) conference, the PM said that President Obama’s appearance on the TV and demand for Raymond’s release proved that the both countries were not on the same page on Davis issue.He said that the issue can be solved only if families of the victims forgive Raymond, or demand compensation, otherwise the court will decide his fate. The PM said that the government would not be their (his and party’s) weak point.He said that no anti-people and anti-country decision would be accepted. Earlier, the PM distributed prizes among the writers who wrote essays on Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH).
