Summary Petition filed in ECP against Imran Khan on allegation of harassment leveled by Ayesha Gulalai
Lahore (Dunya News) - The allegations of harassment leveled by Ayesha Gulalai against Imran Khan have led to a new political situation in Pakistan, which resulted in difficult position for PTI Chairman.
A petition has been filed against Imran Khan on allegations of sexual harassment. Women wing of PML-N protested against PTI chief. PML-N lawmakers plan to pass a resolution against Imran Khan.
The resolution states that Imran Khan cannot remain a lawmaker and should be disqualifid until serious action is not taken. The petition filed in Election Comisssion states that Imran Khan should be de-notified on the basis of not fulfilling the conduct required to be a lawmaker.
Furthermore, the petition stated that Imran Khan should resign from his National Assembly seat until Election Comission sets the election date after the decision is reached on basis of findings in the case.
Hanif Abbasi PML-N leader refered to Ayesha Gulalai as his sister and declared support for her. Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah termed the situation as saddening and said that the seriousness can be gauged from the reaction of Gulalai as no woman would risk her reputation in the society.
The women wing of PML-N staged protest in Iqbal Town of Lahore and chanted slogans saying PTI leadership have no respect for women, asking how can its leaders rule the country when his conduct towards women is disgraceful.
