Summary Punjab Governor Latif Khosa has said that if Basant organizers take responsibility that no throat will be cut by the cord, the event will be allowed to celebrate.
Inaugurating a new block in the University Of Engineering and Technology Lahore, Khosa said that there was no harm in celebrating Basant, if the government was given the assurance that no firing and throat cutting incident would occur. He said Basant had promoted Pakistan’s soft image in the world but it could not be celebrated on the cost of human lives.He said that the Basant organizers could not satisfy the committee, reviewing Basant arrangements. The governor said that there were no differences between the ministers and if any former minster had some reservations, they would be removed soon.
