Summary Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir has contacted the Indian high commissioner and demanded the release of Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, who is detained by the Indian authorities at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport on Sunday.
The secretary added that Pakistan is keenly watching the detention of Rahat. Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit said that 12 members of Rahat’s troupe were released, while three were still in detention. He said that the Foreign Office was in constant contact with Indian authorities and Pakistani high commissioner had formed a two-member task force to deal with the issue.
