Summary Former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says his party is persuading him to rejoin the cabinet but he is not willing to do so.

He said that he had accepted the party decision and had no grudge for anyone, adding that he did his best to perform his duties as foreign minister.Meanwhile, Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s refusal to join the cabinet after knowing about the arrest warrant of former president Pervez Musharraf was questionable. She said that if Qureshi had reservations about the government’s policies, he should have resigned when he was holding the office. She added that Qureshi was not asked to sign any summary. Sources said that Qureshi refused to join the cabinet for not given the portfolio of foreign minister. Sindh law minister said that Qureshi refused to join the cabinet because Musharraf’s arrest warrant was issued. He said that Qureshi leveled baseless accusations on the party. Former Information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira too was annoyed at not given the information ministry. Sourced said that he was offered Kashmir Affairs and later Water and Power Ministry, but he turned down the offer. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillian tried to persuade Kaira, moments before the oath taking ceremony, to join the cabinet but Kaira did not change his stance. Raza Rabbani and Nayyar Bukhari also tried to conciliate him but could not alter his decision.
