Summary A proprietor in Gilgit, locked down a school on his land. The education ministry decides to register a case against the landowner.
The Government Girls Primary School in Soni Kot was built in 2007. The landowner, Raees Ahmed Lon said that he had been out of the country for a few years. It was in this time the school was built. There was no contract or deal made with the education department regarding the school. The students and the teachers have been coming to the locked school for a few days now. The teachers mark the attendance of the students at the gate and are left with no choice but to send them back home.The staff said that they had been hired for 3000rs a month but since the past 4 months they were only being paid 1500rs a month. The staff complained that the officials of the ministry of education were slicing the remaining 1500rs for their salaries. The officials of the ministry of education refused to comment on the accusation made by the staff.
