Summary Raza Rabbani urged the prime minister to stop the government from carrying out the step
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani has on Thursday written a letter to PM Nawaz Sharif over the merger of regulatory institutes into ministries, reported Dunya News on Thursday.
It was mentioned in the letter that the step of merging regulatory institutes into ministeries is unconstitutional.
Raza Rabbani urged the prime minister to stop the government from carrying out this unconstitutional step.
He went on to reveal that the particular step is also against the ruling of the Senate and also the verdicts of various highcourts.
The letter also revealed that it has been mentioned in 21st feburary ruling that no regulatory body could be shifted without the approval of National Economic Council.
Senate Chairman was also of the opinion that this step is against the constitution of Pakistan and that the prime minister should do whatever he can to stop this.
