Summary JIT will submit report in SC on July 10.

LAHORE (Dunya News)- Joint investigation team (JIT), tasked by Supreme Court (SC) to probe Sharif family’s offshore assets, is going to submit its findings in the apex court on July-10. Some politicians tag JIT probe of Sharif family controversial and some term it fair.

On July-3, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar looked angry while addressing media personnel outside judicial academy after registering appearance before Panamagate JIT. Dar, during his media talk, referred to the case of former chief justice of Pakistan’s son Arsalan Iftikhar and raised an important legal point.

He apprised reporters that a questionnaire was sent to Arsalan Iftikhar while a different legal path had been adopted in case of premier’s daughter Maryam Nawaz. While terming current scenario unfair, Dar demanded same legal procedure for Maryam Nawaz.

Kamran Khan prophesied that Panama Paper Case would not end soon. He said that several legal procedures are supposed to be followed even if reports does not came in favour of Sharifs.

While responding to question on what would happen next, Dunya News correspondent Imran Wasim said that SC may constitute a new bench for further proceedings.

The likely new bench would issue notices to all plaintiffs and would also make report public which would be then followed by court’s proceedings.

Renowned legal expert Farogh Naseem said either court can reject report of JIT or can accept it.

“PM would be disqualified if he fails in producing money trail while would continue to chair country’s top designation if court accepts his stance,” added Naseem.
