Summary The premier's son has brought all the relevant documents along with him.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s son Hassan Nawaz on Monday has appeared before Joint Investigation Team (JIT) that was constituted by Supreme Court (SC) to probe Panama Leaks case.
Arriving at the Federal Judicial Academy, Hassan Nawaz waved at the Paksitan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters and went inside the building for the hearing.
Sources told that the premier’s son has brought all the relevant documents along with him to present before the team.
On the other hand, Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar will face the questions prepared by the JIT at 3:00pm today while PM Nawaz’s other son Hussain Nawaz and daughter Maryam Nawaz will appear before the JIT on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
It is to be mentioned here that JIT probing offshore wealth of Sharif family in Panama Papers case will present its final report to SC on July 10.
Talking to the media at Federal Judicial Academy, Asif Kirmani said that all the documents have been submitted after thorough verification. He revealed that JIT has taken assistance from law firm in London. He said that the opposition would not find anything as nothing wrong has been done by Sharif family, adding that the nation is watching what is happening.
Kirmani said that Sharif family was accounted in both Benazir Bhutto and Pervez Musharraf’s eras as some people don’t like our faces.
We have seen Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief’s sit-in call but when PML-N will give call, Imran Khan will run while leaving behind his shoes, he said.
PML-N leader said that Qatari prince has invited JIT members to come to Qatar for investigation as he is ready to answer their questions.
Terming one sided probe as drama, Kirmani said that JIT is calling irrelevant people.
Earlier on Sunday, PM Nawaz Sharif’s cousin Tariq Shafi appeared before the JIT, saying that the JIT inquired about the Gulf Steel Mills and that he answered all the questions.
On the other hand, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had written a letter to the investigation team, stating that it is unable to provide more record of Sharif family and Ishaq Dar in addition to what it has already submitted. The only wealth statement of Sharif family which is missing from the record is of the days when the family was not present in Pakistan, stated FBR.
