ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has summoned Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday to quiz him over assets of the premier’s family while Hussan Nawaz is to appear before the probe committee tomorrow as well.
Reportedly, a notification was received by the finance ministry late in the day today according to which the federal minister is required to appear before the JIT on Monday.
It should be mentioned here that Hassan Nawaz, one of premier’s sons is to be quizzed by the probe team tomorrow whereas, Hussain Nawaz is to appear on Tuesday and subsequently Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday.
The top court-formed JIT is likely to file its comprehensive report on July 10 after it was tasked to probe the first family of Pakistan over Panama Leaks.
The apex court had released its verdict on April 20 after it took up petitions against premier’s family in October last year. Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has denied the corruption allegations of the opposition ever since the leak surfaced in April 2016.
Earlier in the day today, cousin of the premier, Tariq Shafi appeared before the JIT.
Shafi told that the JIT inquired about the Gulf Steel Mills and that he answered all the questions. He further said that he has not been summoned again by the investigation team.
On the other hand, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has written a letter to the investigation team stating that it is unable to provide more record of Sharif family and Ishaq Dar in addition to what it has already submitted.
The only wealth statement of Sharif family which is missing from the record is of the days when the family was not present in Pakistan, stated FBR.
