Summary Tehreek-e-Azadi Jammu & Kashmir (TAJK) was reportedly banned on June 8 by Interior Ministry
(Web Desk) – Senior leadership of Jamaatud-Dawa (JuD) held a consulation meeting recently in which they discussed the matter of ban on their offshoot organisation Tehreek-e-Azadi Jammu & Kashmir (TAJK).
The Nation reported that the Interior Ministry banned TAJK on June 8 and enlisted it as a proscribed organisation. Abdul Aziz Alvi is the chairman of TAJK, and also a close member of JuD. Indian media reacted to the matter after Trump-Modi meeting in Washington.

Hafiz Saeed was put under house arrest in February, this year. TAJK was widely discussed after the house arrest of five JuD members. On April 30, the Interior Ministry extended their house arrest by 90 days. Reports said JuD leaders will convene a meeting on July 3 at Jamia Qadsia, the Lahore head office, which will be chaired by senior leader Hafiz Abdur Rehman Makki.
