Summary Dera Ismail Khan, a city of 1.3 millions population, is facing huge traffic problems due to excess of motorcycle rickshaws and flagrant violation of traffic rules, Dunya News reported on Friday.
Often traffic jams are seen on major chowks during peak hours. According to traffic police, unregistered motorcycle rickshaws are creating traffic problems as they do not follow the traffic rules. The police said that unprecedented increase in number of motorcycle rickshaws has destroyed the traffic system in the city.On the other hand, the Excise and Taxation department has suspended the registration of new motorcycle rickshaws, which is causing a huge loss to the department as well as increasing the number of unregistered motorcycle rickshaws in the city.
