Summary Hashmi has demanded off the judiciary to lodge cases against leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senator who tendered his resignation after backlash over tirade against judiciary, Nehal Hashmi has reasserted on Tuesday that he never committed contempt of court and was being made a scapegoat in the issue over Panamagate.

Hashmi filed a reply in the apex court today over suo moto notice which was taken by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar earlier this month.

While talking to the media before leaving the SC premises, Hashmi demanded off the judiciary to lodge cases against leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for presenting distorted version of his controversial speech to the nation.

He alleged the national media for broadcasting contents of his speech without reference to the context and stressed cases against all the persons who damaged honour of the judiciary.

He mentioned that PTI chief has legal cases against him since 2014 for crimes and that his party upped their anti-government criticism after his speech, on purpose.

The senator whose party membership was revoked after the diatribe delivered on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer was released to the media on May 30 getting a lot of flak to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was asked by the Prime Minister (PM) to relinquish his senatorial seat.

The same day, CJP took suo moto notice of the speech that targeted the judiciary and the officials of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing Panamagate against premier’s family.

One of the judges of the top court remarked after the incident that not even dictators threatened children of the judges the way Hashmi had.
