Summary National Assemblys Standing Committee for Defense has demanded MD PIA to tender resignations form his post. Faisal Saleh Hayat said that MD PIA was the root-cause of the crisis.
Meeting of the committee was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Azra Afzal in the Parliament House. In the meeting, MD PIA captain Ijaz Haroon admitted that he didn’t inform the Ministry of Defense about the arrival of Turkish Airline delegation. He said that he was ready for the accountability of every kind. MD PIA said that he will not flee the country in any case. Secretary Defense Syed Athar Ali said that MD PIA violated the rules and PM Gilani has been informed in this regard. Committee members Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi and Faisal Saleh demanded the MD PIA to resign from the post.
