Summary 4 back to back bomb blasts rocked Gujranwala. The police were targeted in these bomb blasts as all four bombs happened near police buildings. The sound of the explosions sound was heard for miles and panicked citizens came out on the streets. The police have started a search operation and several people have been arrested.
At 7 in the morning, 2 bomb blasts rocked the city of Gujranwala, the explosions took place near the CPO police station and the sound of the explosions could be heard for miles. the blasts also damaged the nearby building and back wall of the police station is severely damaged as it has a big hole in it.Later, another explosion took place near the RPO office and the Special Operation Branch Building. The blast was of low intensity but it was enough to bring down the wall of the Chief traffic officers office. The bomb disposal squad quickly arrived at the scene. The squad found and diffused a bomb in a big plastic container.The fourth bomb blast took place near the CPO at around 10am. The bomb blast was near the official residence of higher police officials. a large hole was formed in the roof of one of the houses. Rescue 1122 along with several police official quickly arrived at the scene. The back to back bomb blasts created panic in the city and the security was put on high alert.The police were quick to start a rescue operation and so far 10 suspected people have been arrested. The police with the help of search digs are also looking for more explosive devices. The police said that the bombs are stored in big plastic containers and are attached with a timing device.
