Summary On the advice of Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, President Asif Ali Zardari has appointed Barrister Masood Kausar as Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
The President felicitated Barrister Kausar on his new assignment, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. The President expressed the hope that he would provide moral and political support in the fight against militancy and also work for the welfare and uplift of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA.Masood Kausar, the brother of noted Urdu poet Ahmad Faraz, is a veteran PPP leader and has served on important positions in the party. He would replace Owais Ahmad Ghani, who has completed his 3-year period. He will take oath as Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 10th Feb.
