Justice Sair said that the loans were written off on political basis.The Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, on a Sue Moto notice, on Monday remarked that the banks caused a heavy loss writing of a large quantity of loans. Were the beneficiaries of the loans poor dying of hunger? The CJP asked.Justice Sair Ali said that the loans were not written off on merit but political basis. The Supreme Court rejected the request of forming a commission to compile the list of defaulters after 1973.On the request of State Bank’s Lawyer, The SC adjourned the hearing of the case till 14th Feb.
