Summary Hafiz Naeem says K-Electric must return Rs 200bn 'looted' from people or sit-in will be held

KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) on Saturday staged a protest against K-Electric and threatened a sit-in outside Governor House if K-Electric doesn’t reimburse Rs 200 billion ‘looted’ from the common people of Karachi.

JI Karachi President Hafiz Naeem ur-Rehman said during the protest that K-Electric’s highhandedness won’t be tolerated in any case. He said that those robbing people of their money were being crowned while nobody was worried about the common people.

Hafiz Naeem said that a sit-in will be staged outside Governor House on April 22 and the movement against K-Electric won’t end unless they reimburse the 200 billion rupees they ‘looted’ from the people. He added that the movement will continue till the end of K-Electric’s rule.

The protest was also attended by famous characters of ‘Hollywood and Bollywood’. ‘PK’ and ‘Spiderman’ joined the protest for the rights of the people and remained the centre of attention throughout.
