Summary Next meeting to take place within a day or two: Aitzaz Ahsan
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Sixth meeting of Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has ended on Tuesday without any positive outcome over extension in tenure of military courts.
Representatives of both the political parties are in agreement to meet for the seventh time in hope to strike consensus over the outstanding issue.
While talking to the media after the meeting, Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said that it is not about a clause or two but the parties would strike a ‘package deal’. Senior member of PPP expressed hope in the matter and said that the issue would be resolved though several meetings have failed.
While talking about the next sitting with the ruling party, Ahsan said that the meeting would take place within a day or two.
Military courts were established early 2015 after the government and the army agreed to pursue the amendment in constitution following an attack on Army Public School in December 2014.
