KARACHI (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said on Tuesday that forced conversions of faiths is a crime in the light of Islam.
The premier addressed a gathering organised in Karachi in connection with Holi which was attended by Governor of Sindh and federal ministers including Saad Rafique. During his speech, he said that those who discriminate among rights of the people of different faiths have not absorbed the real meaning of Islam.
PM Nawaz said that the people are not supposed to decide upon others’ afterlife and they are liable to make the world a heaven for all. He said that the people have never accepted politics based in hatred. Forced conversions are a crime according to Islam.
The entire mankind is equal in the light of Islam, he added.
He said that certain people wished to make religious values Pakistan’s weakness. The premier said that Islam does not discriminate among people of variant faiths over imposition of the law and distribution of wealth.
The Prime Minister demanded off the people to not decry holy places of any faith.
PM Nawaz Sharif announced to release Rs 500 million for the welfare of Hindu community.
It should be mentioned here that Chief Minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah did not attend the gathering and prioritized a luncheon hosted by a Member of Provincial Assembly, Murtaza Baloch.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif invited representatives of the community in Pakistan to Prime Minister House.
The premier is on a two-day visit to Karachi. Earlier in the day, PM Nawaz convened a meeting with Federal Minister for Railways, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, Nehal Hashmi and all district-level leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in Sindh.

On the occasion, he expressed concerns over dumps in several areas of the city and poor cleanliness situation.
He remarked had Karachi kept on progressing like it was in 1970s, it would have been Asia’s best city by now. He announced to include circular railways in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The premier asserted that construction of circular railways would soon begin.
He also said that the federally ruling party would contest General Elections 2018 in Karachi among all cities of Sindh with full zest.
