LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lt Gen Amjad Shoaib (Retd) on Tuesday said that defence minister Khawaja Asif’s statement on Hafiz Saeed can be equated with declaring oneself guilty.
While talking in Dunya News programme ‘On the Front’, Shoaib stated that whole world already backs India’s stance on terrorism.
"Though, there is absolutely no doubt in PM’s patriotism but he has never uttered a word on Kulbhushan Yadav and it seems this is happening on wish of Pentagon", claimed Shoaib Amjad.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) member of national assembly (MNA) Ali Mohammad Khan said the Defence Minister’s statement pertaining to Hafiz Saeed seems articulation of Modi.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker Talal Chaudhry said ISPR’s statement on Hafiz Saeed clears all confusion surrounding the matter. He further said that all decisions are made after proper consultation.
It may be recalled that Defence Minister Khawaja Asif at the Munich Security Conference said Jamaatud Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed can pose a serious threat to the society.
Hafiz Saeed was detained under fourth schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) on January 30. He was arrested in the larger interest of the country, Asif held.
