CHINIOT (Dunya News) – A protest demonstration was held by farmers against the construction of Chniot Dam, reported Dunya News.
The protest was also attended by leaders of PPP, JI, and also leaders from the farmer and lawyer communities.
The protestors demanded that the government should stop construction of Chiniot Dam. They sit-in started in the morning and continued till evening. However after the discussions with deputy commissioner, the protestors ended the demonstration on the condition that their demands would be conveyed to the higher authorities.
The protestors were also of the opinion that any kind of effort should be avoided that could result in any kind of financial loss to the farmers.
The protestors were of the opinion that the mention dam could result in the economic killing of farmers.
