KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Residents of Orangi Town on Sunday protested against the street crimes and after burning tyres on Orangi Road, they also surrounded the Orangi Town Iqbal Market police station, reported Dunya News.

The protestors said that they were catching the dacoits as the police sat idly. Police officials unable to cope with public outrage kept blowing the whistles but even the police mobile stranded in the midst of the protesting crowd couldn’t find its way out.

The protestors carrying banners blocked Orangi Road for traffic said that several people had been robbed of their cash and other belongings while the policemen sat in their seats.

Things boiled down to a clash between the police and the protestors. The protestors broke the glass of the police mobile and were shelled by the police. The SHO of the police station has been told to submit report of the incident.
