Heavy snowfall halts life in upper parts of the country

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Snowfall and rains in upper parts of the country has completely halted the daily life activities as folks confine to their homes in most of the areas.

In addition, traffic was also put to halt in various area owing to intense weather.

It has also been reported that a kid also died as a result of the intense weather while six vehicles got stuck in Dhak area of Balochistan.

Hundreds of people are reported to have been stuck in snow as a result of this incident.

ISPR revealed that a rescue operation has been put in place in order to recover those trapped in snow.

ISPR spokesperson also confirmed that food, blankets and medicine have also been provided to the affectees.

It has also been reported that owing to intense weather, helicopters could not reach the area.

It has also been reported that Chitral’s road contact with other areas was also disrupted owing to heavy snowfall.

In addition, the electric supply was also cut off due to the electric wires and poles being dismantled in the area.
