Lawyer seeks time from ECP to submit reply over petitions against Imran, Tareen

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) lawyer on Wednesday sought time from Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to submit reply over the petitions filed against Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen.

A five-member bench of ECP headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza conducted hearing of the references submitted by speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

During the hearing, PML-N submitted a separate plea for the in eligibility of Imran Khan.

The commission sought a reply from PTI lawyer Naeem Bukhari over the plea.

However; he asked the bench to provide him some time to submit the reply.

CEC suggested adjourning the hearing till February 14.

PML-N lawyer Akram Sheikh laughed in response and said that the date marks Valentine Day.

“Do you celebrate Valentine Day?” inquired the CEC.
Sheikh replied that he doesn’t.

The commission adjourned the hearing of both the cases till February 15.

On the other hand, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry has prayed for a ministry for Daniyal Aziz so that PTI can get relief from his side.
