KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has hinted of launching a movement against delay in shifting of power to elected representatives of local government.
Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly, Khawaja Izharul Hassan asserted that the protest, if demonstrated, would be staged outside Chief Minister (CM) House.
Parliamentary party of MQM convened a meeting in Sindh Assembly which was attended by 35 members. While addressing the participants, Khawaja Izharul Hassan said that the party would not let the Government of Sindh deprive LG representatives of the due authority.
The opposition leader said that the political party would approach court if the government remains adamant over it’s ‘unacceptable’ stand.
MPA Faisal Sabzwari said that it would be difficult for Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to run the government if local government is not strengthened.
