COAS Gen Bajwa served befitting message to US on CPEC: analysts

Summary Defence anaylysts expressed their thoughts at Dunya Forum regarding army chief's recent statements.

ISLAMABAD (Daily Dunya) - While expressing their thoughts at Dunya Forum regarding army chief’s recent statements, defence analysts viewed Gen Qamar Bajwa’s words as continuation of Pakistan Army’s policies pertaining to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

New army chief has same commitment to CPEC as his predecessor, said Major General (R ) Mohammad Javed.

General (R ) Javed said that US had joined hands with enemies of Pakistan as China launched CPEC.

He said that Pakistan army is guarantor of CPEC along with its security.

COAS had directly warned not to test patience of Pakistan otherwise elements with hostile intentions would be responsible for their losses, quoted General ( R ) Javed.

General ( R) Javed said the Russia-Pakistan rapprochement would further marginalize India in region.


US-India affair against ‘China’


Lieutenant General (R ) Amjad Shoaib said that growing US-India ties were aimed at isolating China. He said that US policymakers viewed powerful India as their natural ally in region but China had turned tides against them by launching massive project of CPEC to revive ancient Silk Route.


Modi-Ghani whammy


Lieutenant General (R ) Ziauddin-Butt said that India was busy in playing its card in Afghanistan against Pakistan. COAS Bajwa has hinted at these elements conspiring to obliterate CPEC. He said that it was hard for enemies to digest a prosperous Pakistan.


Leadership with future vision


Major General (R ) Zahid Mubashir Sheikh said strong leadership with future vision is dire need of the hour.

While refering to Egypt, he equated Suez Canal with CPEC.

Mubashir Sheikh said that Egypt had failed in capitalizing fruits of mega-project owing to unkind and unwilling leadership.
