Summary Around Rs 50 million have been spent to erect posters, banners and party flags in the metropolis
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Several ‘welcome camps’ have been established across the metropolis on Thursday a day ahead of former president Co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari’s arrival.
Enthusiasts and activists of PPP are being served food at the camps while banners and flexes have been erected across Karachi to welcome Zardari who is to return to Pakistan after months of stay in Dubai.
According to a careful estimate, around Rs 50 million have been spent to erect posters, banners and party flags in the metropolis. Manzoor Wasan, provincial minister from PPP has asserted that not a single penny from government’s resources was used for the purpose but party fund was utilized for the cause.
A hefty amount is expected to be spent to shift workers from across the Sindh to Karachi and back to welcome the former president and attend his address at the airport.
On the other hand, locals have demanded arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic that is disturbed in the city with every VVIP movement.
