Summary PFA has recovered 6000kg unhealthy meat during an operation in Lahore’s Tollinton Market on Monday.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The crackdown of Punjab Food Authority (PFA) against traders selling meat of sick and dead animals in Lahore continues as PFA teams seized 6000kg unhygienic meat during an operation in Tollinton Market on Monday, Dunya News reported.
The Punjab Food Authority officials also sealed nine shops in the market for selling meat of sick and dead animals. The PFA officials also sealed a boiler used for boiling chicken wings and intestines.
According to Food Safety Officer, Tahira Kalsoom, more than 7000kg unhealthy meat was destroyed during an operation in the Tollinton Market last week. She further said that the sale of unhygienic meat was ongoing in the market despite assurance from the officials of the Tollinton Market Union.
