Summary Standing cabinet committee forwarded the summary to Chief Minister after approving it.
LAHORE (Web Desk) – Government of Punjab has approved the summary seeking to appoint additional 1050 commandos in Special Protection Unit formed for VVIPs.
For the purpose, government has issued Rs57.33 crore from supplementary grant.
According to documents obtained by Daily Dunya, the issue was raised in standing sub-committee’s meeting in which it was said that more than 300 commandos would be deployed at the residence of government officials.
During the meeting, Punjab police urged the authorities to recruit more officials as majority of the guards are already performing duties with political personalities.
They said we also need to enhance the security of the foreigners to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, standing cabinet committee forwarded the summary to Chief Minister after approving it.
Punjab Home Minister said that special trainings would be given to the new hirings.
