US extends condolences to families of PK-661 crash victims

Summary Mark Toner said that US is ready for assistance in investigation of the deadly plane crash.

WASHINGTON (Dunya News) - US State Department Deputy Spokesperson, Mark Toner, while briefing the newsmen in Washington on Wednesday extended condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight PK-661 crash.

Mark Toner further said that United States is also ready for assistance in rescue operation and investigation of the deadly plane crash.

Answering another question, Mark Toner informed that Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Foreign Affairs, Tariq Fatemi met with US under secretary of state Tony Blinken on December 5 and discussed a range of bilateral and regional issues, including regional stability and counterterrorism cooperation.

Responding to another question, Toner said that US will continue to encourage Pakistan and Afghanistan to cooperate in their counterterrorism operations and efforts because that is only going to contribute to regional stability.
