Summary Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar invites PPP, JI, Sindh govt to join his 'Hamara Karachi' campaign
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar on Friday cleaned the streets and roads in Orangi Town and Qasba Colony areas on the second day of ‘Hamara Karachi’ (lit.: Our Karachi) campaign and also invited Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamaat Islami (JI) and Sindh government to join the campaign, reported Dunya News.
The campaign by Waseem Akhtar and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Waseem Akhtar started only yesterday from Shah Faisal Highway and Gulshan-e-Iqbal but the heaps of garbage were also seen at various places in these areas even today.
The citizens said that the public representatives should focus on public service instead of photo session. They said that the staff came only with the leaders but didn’t show up after the leaders had left.
Waseem Akhtar had started a 100-day campaign to clean up Karachi but the staff’s complacent attitude was back within 24 hours of the launch. Although the mayor cleaned up Orangi Town and Qasba Colony personally today and the staff was also there with him but there’s no guarantee that the same staff will be present tomorrow as well.
Karachi’s mayor also announced repairing of the roads beginning from Monday.
