KARACHI (Dunya News) – Ignoring the plight of local patients, the election commission on Monday turned a government hospital into a polling station for NA-258 by-elections.
The outdoor patient department (OPD) was closed and the election commission staff took over the main reception to distribute ballot papers.
Reportedly, no prior notice was issued regarding the move.




Voting process for by-election in NA-258 constituency of Karachi’s Malir District has started at 8:00 am today.
The polling would continue till 5:00 pm without any break.
Reportedly, PPP Abdul Hakeem Baloch is likely to win the by-election as the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have already boycotted the polls.
Police and Rangers personnel have been deployed both inside and outside the polling stations. Out of 287 polling stations, 68 have been declared highly sensitive, while 219 polling stations were regarded sensitive.
The seat was vacated by former PML-N MNA Hakeem Baloch, who resigned from the party and joined the PPP.
