Summary Talks between land mafia and district government also achieved no end results
KARACHI (Dunya News) – On special court orders, the land mafia that has illegally grabbed the Labour Square building in Gulshan-e-Maimar, has been asked to evacuate the building prior to Nov 24.
According to details, some of the officials of the administration authority reached Labour Square of Gulshan-e-Maimar area in order to evacuate the building, however, to their surprise a scene was created as the members of land mafia started protesting all of a sudden.
The protestors seemed to be in no mood to evacuate the building and in order to cope up with the unexpected situation, the administration authority had to call the police.
However, despite heavy deployment of police at the scene, the locals were not willing to evacuate the area in any case except if they were offered alternative places as residence.
Furthermore, women of the locality came out and started protesting by burning tyres.
Something that really added fuel to the fire was the talks between land mafia and district government that achieved no end results.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner Manghopir had cleared out that the land mafia has been given deadline of Nov 24 to evacuate the building. He further explained that eighty percent building has been evacuated while twenty percent of the building will soon be evacuated.
On the other hand, the land mafia has completely disavowed to evacuate the building.
