Summary Decision over new army chief lied with the discretion of the premier, said JUI-F chief
MULTAN (Dunya News) – Fazlur Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has defended Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday by asking his political opponents why he should tender his resignation.
He welcomed the fact that Panama Leaks case was now being heard by Supreme Court (SC) as according to him now the premier would emerge victorious.
The premier did not need to resign unless the court declared him responsible for un-accounted for wealth, Fazlur Rehman said. He alleged Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan of evading his accountability.
JUI-F chief also talked about United States (US) presidential elections. He asserted that US had innocent blood on her hands and no matter who leads the country, the policies would remain unchanged.
While talking about appointment of a new army chief, Fazlur Rehman said that the decision lied with the discretion of the premier and he would act in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan.
