Summary Imran Khan has demanded the government to have a judge of Supreme Court (SC) lead the probe

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday has rejected the inquiry committee formed by the government to probe news story of an English paper that allegedly jeopardized national security.

Chief of the political organisation, Imran Khan has objected to the appointment of Justice (r) Amir Raza as the head of the committee. According to him the appointed chief of the probe committee was a question mark on transparency of investigations.

Imran Khan has demanded the government to have a judge of Supreme Court (SC) lead the probe.

The leader of PTI also demanded the government to bound the commission with a due date of verdict. Khan further said that there was no need of a probe in the first place when Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar claimed earlier that he knew who fed the news to the media.

A news story that was published in an English newspaper on October 6 claimed of a confrontation between army and the government behind closed doors in a meeting of the National Security Committee (NSG) presided over by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.

The government denied the report and termed it baseless as well as the army.

However, the paper is adamant that the story was confirmed ny multiple sources before it was made public.
