PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – First Information Report (FIR) against organiser of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) November 2 ‘lockdown’ has been lodged on Friday over setting ablaze five cars and eight motorcycles on motorway near Burhan Interchange earlier this week.

The FIR was lodged in Hazro Police Station, complainant being the Station House Officer (SHO).
Reportedly, ‘organiser’ of the sit-in was named in the report however, Chief Minister (CM) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pervez Khattak who was leading the group that day into Punjab, towards Islamabad, has denied the allegations.
Activists of PTI attempted to enter Punjab to reach Islamabad via motorway earlier this week to participate in the sit-in which by then had not called off by Chairman, Imran Khan. Punjab Police, following imposition of Section-144 across Punjab, hindered the movement and tear gas shelling continued on motorway for some hours.
Enraged workers of the protesting political party set ablaze vehicles as they cleared barricades placed by police to foil alleged lockdown of the federal capital as claimed by the protesters.
The sit-in went on to be branded as a celebratory rally and not a protest after Supreme Court (SC) took up the case of Panama Leaks for hearing.
The protest was called by Imran Khan against premier’s alleged corruption after it was revealed in April through a database leak in Mossack Fonseca that premier’s family owned offshore companies.
The development was seen by the then joint opposition in the issue as means to stash wealth abroad by the leader of the nation, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.
