Summary Defence Minister said Nawaz Sharif's commitment with system highest because he's 3rd time PM
KARACHI: (Web Desk) - Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Tuesday confirmed the notion that sacking former Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid helped diffusing the situation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), reported Dunya News.
Talking to Kamran Khan on Dunya News, Khawaja Asif said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif s commitment was the highest with the system because he has been elected the prime minister of this country thrice through the same system. "He is at this point today because he has gone through it all. There s no one in this country who has more value in his mind for democracy than the PM", he said.
When asked by Kamran Khan how much the sacking of the foreign minister helped diffusing the situation, Khawaja Asif said that he completely agreed with Kamran Khan.
"The timing of sacking Pervaiz Rashid proved vital in calming down the situation, didn t it?" said Kamran Khan.
Khawaja Asif replied that he completely agreed. He said that there was a strong commitment in the army with the system and at the civilian side as well. "Pakistan is not only facing internal issues, but also external threats", he said.
