Reportedly, a student organisation stormed the department and harassed those inside including students. Sources have reported that women students were cross-questioned while some male students were manhandled.

Intervention of guards came to no use against threats of the culprits. At least three students were shifted to a hospital for the injuries they sustained. The administration has sought police to register a case.

However, police have stated that some students who were involved in vandalism and harassment were detained inside the department.

Earlier in February, some 200 students were taken in custody in the university.

In the following days, Vice Chancellor (VC) of PU, Mujahid Kamran had held Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) responsible for violence at the campus.

While talking to Dunya News in an exclusive talk, Mujahid Kamran had quoted statistics when he said that almost all the incidents of violence were triggered by IJT.
