Summary Campaign was organised in UC-65 Lahore to apprise people about their duty to fight terrorism

LAHORE: (Web Desk) - Punjab University (PU) students of Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) organised a meeting with the help of the local representatives of Union Council (UC) 65, Islampura, Lahore, regarding anti-terrorism.

The meeting was attended by Chairman UC-65, Vice Chairman, counselors, local elders and the SHO of the local police station. The meeting discussed the sensitivities of the month of Muharram and the elders spoke about how the menace of terrorism could be curbed with the help of public-police cooperation.

Islampura police SHO Nasir Hameed said that the police was ever-vigilant and told that the locals always cooperated with the police in the area. The local representatives said that it was the collective duty of the people of Pakistan to fight terrorism and it was possible only through cooperation between public and the law-enforcing agencies.

SHO Nasir Hameed said that Islamapura Police Station area included 6 union councils and after Akbari Gate Police Station, it had the highest number of Muharram processions going through it but there never arose a situation in this area and that was only because the people of the area cooperated not only with each other but the police as well.

CAP Central President Malik Furqan Ghias, who had helped arrange the meeting and also led the speakers on this occasion, said that the terrorists would never attack a place where the people had such strong bond with each other.
