Summary Both the accused pleaded innocence and denied the allegations
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Rizwan and his wife, Sonia have been indicted by court on Saturday in case regarding Haleema’s murder.
District and Sessions Judge South, as he read the document, said that both the broker named Rizwan and his wife were present in Delhi Colony on May 25, 2016 at the time when Haleema, mother of a minor named Abdullah was murdered in an apartment that she had rented.
Rizwan had played the role of a broker to help Haleema, a disenchanted wife, living separately in Karachi s locality, get an apartment.
Sources had revealed earlier that Haleema and Rizwan were having issues over agreed rent of the flat.
During the hearing today, both the accused pleaded innocence and denied the allegations.
Court has summoned witnesses in the case on October 1 for cross questioning to pursue the case further. The judge directed that copies of witnesses’ complete statements be provided.
Rizwan was arrested by security personnel days after Haleema was murdered in her Karachi flat and her son handed over to Edhi Foundation the same night.
His wife was nabbed who claimed innocence but as the case unfolded, police claimed that she knew about the whereabouts of her husband during the time he went into hiding before getting copped.
Abdullah remained in custody of the welfare foundation for around two months until his grandmother and maternal aunt won his custody in a court case.
